Default Setting for "LabVIEW Version" in the Environment

Status: New

For everybody who deals with a lot of different LabVIEW versions it is difficult to handle the versions.

If you forget to select [save for previous], the code will be recompiled to the newest version.

The problem stated in the post, at least to me, sounds like a typical use case for a launcher type of application. The project files, or maybe even the libraries and VIs (practically all LabVIEW documents) already store the last version used to edit them, the project files also store the Save version now, therefore it would be a logical step to have a launcher that reads this information and launches the appropriate version of the development environment.

@SirQuickly is this something that would solve the problem from your perspective as well?

The current behavior is to keep the version the project was last saved in. I personally prefer using the .lvversion file next to the project file stating the save version as it makes it easier to check from a Git interface.

The only place I am seeing this setting to be useful is when you create a new project and you want to keep it in an older version for the sake of compatibility with your team.
