Enable mouse wheel scrolling in context menus

Status: Completed

Feature available in LabVIEW 2021 and later

In some cases the list of context menu items extends beyond the vertical screen height (for example when creating a property for a control). The only way to scroll up or down this list using the mouse is by hovering over the small arrows at the top and bottom (and quickly moving the mouse away to stop scrolling).

This idea is to enable mouse wheel scrolling on context menus where the list of items is scrollable (the scroll arrows are visible) and the mouse pointer is hovering over the list. This allows for precise scrolling with much fewer mouse movements.

Yes, that would go a long way to help navigating those menus! I also have a ~500ms delay when I switch items that have the expansion arrow >. I would really like that to be more instantaneous.

FYI: you can already use the Page Up and Page Down keys to scroll through the list

I just tried this in LabVIEW 2025 Q1 and the scroll wheel works to scroll the control properties list shown in the original screenshot. I don't remember hearing about this feature being implemented, but it looks like it was?

2020SP1 does not allow the scrolling. 2021SP1 does. I don't have non-SP 2021 to test that one.
