When you search for the terminal OR property nodes OR references OR local variables of a FP object, a "Search Results" window opens, conveniently providing access to the different instances of said object on the diagram(s).
However, when there is a single hit (e.g., trivially, for the terminal of an object but that's also the case if you have, say, a single property node), the Search Results window is not used.
Instead, the diagram is opened up with the object highlighted. That's fine, but I may want to check something first and then go back to that object. Can't do that when the Search Results window is not here, storing the location of that single instance.
So please, open up a Search Windows even when there is a single hit.
related suggestion: there are a lot of ideas/suggestions on how to improve the Find functions, which need more kudos:
- allow searching for more than just one category. Not just "references" OR "property nodes" but "references" AND "Property node", for instance. See here.
- allow an history of searches, or simpler yet, keep those Search Results windows open and independent from one another. Right now, if you perform a new search, you've lost the previous one. So, keeping with the previous point, if you search for Property Nodes, you lost the location of the references... But this extends to different objects. I might be interested in TWO interelated objects in my diagram and thus a modification of one needs to be mirrored by a modification on the other one. This has been partially addressed by Jim Kring in this idea (and my comment) but this needs more hits...
