Fix Hidden Strict Reference Stars

Status: New

The red star which indicates that a Reference Control is strictly typed gets partially or completely hidden by many of the graphics as shown in the some of the controls on the top row of the picture below. I suggest we either send the star to the front of the graphic, or as Altenbach suggested in my thread that started the discussion, to the top of the graphic as shown.

So, I started looking at fixing this.

What does everything think about putting the star in the top-left?  Top-center?  What about leaving it where it is but drawing it on top of whatever icon the control has?

Here are some options.  I'm a fan of #1.

If I had the discision it would be #3 to be consistant with the look of static vi refs (Maybe put the arrow on too?)

Yeah, but that makes it off-balance.  Static VI Reference has graphics across the top.  This is a serious problem! Smiley Wink

Why not just make the star in the foreground?

I'd be fine with 1, 2, or 3.

I'd say #3 is the closest, but about 2 pixels to the left.

This is a stupid idea anyway, who came up with this? Smiley Tongue

I want a blackened upper-left corner when the reference is to a typedef or strict typedef. System or user. The precedent for a black upper-left corner already exists. Red stars are communist.
