Flying Probe in Context Help

Status: New

This idea was actually inspired by a question in an online core 1 module quiz.

What information is displayed in the context help window when hoovering over a wire with highlight execution enabled?

a) The Value of the data on the wire.

b) .....

c) The Data type of the wire

d)...

c) is correct  Wouldn't a) be nice??????Smiley Wink

Data values in the flying probe with highlight execution *off* would be handy as well. Any time we can see something "on the fly" is useful.

Actually Paul, unless "retain wire values" is on I don't think it would be possible to show the "Flying probe"  and I probably would want the current behavior unless I was in highlight execution with retain wire values and the code had executed.  Not executed code should NOT show the default value or previous value (unless, it was also washed out) since that would lead many a troubleshooter merrilly down the wrong path.

Maybe I'm missing something, but you're already over the wire. Why not just click and create the probe?

Much to my shagrin-  (and another call to fix the search engine!) this post should be marked as "duplicate"  I even commented on the original idea!  A search limited to the Idea exchange By my alias will show the original on pg 6
