Getting Started window should try to Find My Files

Status: New

The Getting Started window gives up too easily if you click on a file that has been moved or deleted. It should provide an option to find the file.

Muks: I guess there could be a third button : Help : if you wish to see all the warnings and recommendations regarding your missing file.

No there should not be further info on the error.

That information is for the function/programmer calling the 'Open File' function. In this case that is the designer of the Getting Started Window (Christina are you listening).

Supplying that info is overloading the user.

And the noise is linked to that button. Great. Anyway what does the "Solve my problems.vi" actually do???:smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy:

It cures peanut allergies, and is a sub-vi of What's up with airplane peanuts.vi .

Any message longer than 3 lines sledom gets read.  THere is way too much noise with that message.

I meant there is way too much noise in the original "File Not Found" message.  And quite often, the messages that LabVIEW provides the users are either too cryptic or too noisy to actually offer any help.

3 lines is asking a lot these days. I've had to replace my "Danger: High Voltage" warnings with "OMG, WTF!"

People no longer have time to read.  Sad but true.
