I acctually found a way that works for me. Instead of going the described way above I now use right click at lvclass file SAVE->SAVE AS and do a copy with all files included. You will get a copy of lvclass file with all sub-VIs and the same properties included. Something the NI guy at the user meeting in 04/2014 didn't know, but someone else figured out in the mean time. (still LV 2012)
