I've been using LabVIEW for some time now and am quite familiar with which VI's do what and if I need a quick reminder, the context help usually gives me what I need. However, sometimes when I'm using a feature I've never used before (or just forgot how it works) I have to break out the full help dialog.
This is awful. It wasn't bad with base LabVIEW, but now that I have ~10 add-on packages, this is dreadful slow. I click the little blue question mark and watch as LabVIEW locks up for 2 minutes while it initializes help. The UI is totally unresponsive. As an added bonus, the context help seems to have the "always on top" window flag so if I switch over to do something else while I wait, I have that window obscuring my view.
Please make the help dialog launch on a different thread so that I can keep using LabVIEW while I wait for the help dialog to load.
Thank you
