Modern embedded web browser

Hi,

Following this forum thread, I post here my idea:

Is it possible to update the embedded web browser in order to comply with HTML5 ?

We uses external web pages to improve the user experience in out LabVIEW applications.

Having the Microsoft Edge WebView2 control in LabVIEW would be a great option!

Use the JKI VI Package Manager and search & Install "WebView2" and click show examples in JKI VIPM and enjoy.

even more relevant as the need to integrate various proprietary AI assistants into LabVIEW UI's increases as part of 'ask' from production floor leadership, many of these assistants leverage websites for free-form operator interactions (in addition to scripted interactions) having HTML5 will allow for more integration options.

Is this new browser platform independent?

Having it in Windows is good, but if it's available on Linux and Mac, that would be fantastic.

The Web Browser control in LabVIEW 2026 Q1 is supported on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
