NI must go to monthly or yearly subscription model for software licenses

Everybody else is doing it ( Microsoft, Adobe, ... ).
You pay $100 a month and you get access to ALL NI software products, period. You also get access to all the older versions ( clients rarely use the latest version ). Remember the KISS principle ( Keep It Simple and Straightforward ). I keep getting resistance on this idea fron NI folks. Please forward this idea to the NI CEO for consideration.
Thank you

...and it doesn't seem to be going too well for most of them.

Just sayin'.

Doesn't this happen already (though at a higher cost than you mention) with the Standard Service Program for the Developer Suite?

We at our company would scaresly want to be billed monthly as the billing paper work would add a "lot" of work for "no good reason". We are rather happy with the SSP programe, though of course it wouldn't hurt if it was a bit cheaper.. maybe scaled by how long you have been continuouslly enrolled under the SSP?? That way, as you renew your SSP for the umpteenth time you would get some reckognition of your long standing continued membership in the form of a price reduction/kickback.. I would much rather see that then a monthly thing.

I guess the main point of my comment is to caution that we all have different situations that would dictate what is "best" and your title (NI MUST...) is very strongly phrased and not aligned with what we would want..

To say that I dislike the idea of a subscription for access to software would be an understatement.

The concept of having to continually pay in order to support code is unacceptable in my opinion. If I purchase a license for a particular version of software, I expect that I will have continual use of that product without being tethered to a recurring monthly or annual contract. If at some point in time I no longer maintain SSP on the product, I should still be able to utilize the product, at the last revision that was paid for.

I accept that NI will not provide support for a non SSP customer, however you should not be precluded from using the product.

That software model is the single reason why we would never use the LabVIEW Web UI builder
