Option to pin the pallette opened thro' short-cut menu

Status: New

I wish to have the option to pin the (relative datatype) pallette opened thro' short-cut menu, like inthe attached snapshot.

The use-case I feel is, most of the times when I want/need to navigate to the related datatype pallette in search of something, suddenly I find that I need more than one function to be used in my next steps of coding. So during those times, pinning is a viable & useful option.

Hope some of the folks would agree with me... Smiley Happy

If it happens, it'll be a while behind a lot of other bigger requests. Huge swaths of LabVIEW have been refactored to modern software standards, but the menu system remains... arcane. Getting bandwidth for any refactoring is tricky since the refactoring itself doesn't benefit users. It always has to aim at a user goal. To be honest, it is hard for me to claim that anyone would buy more copies of LabVIEW if we could pin shortcut menus, whereas "refactor the render API so that users can have zoom" or "clean up layout code so users can create resizable panels without so much G code" are much easier sells, far more likely to be allocated our UI development bandwidth.

But, seriously, give this idea kudos if it is important to you. NI is working really hard on modernizing as much of LabVIEW as possible in the ways that most benefit users. If this is important to enough people, it will eventually get oxygen.
