This has been bugging me for years:
When you edit a VI and choose "Save As" you get a file dialog window. And if you happen to navigate into an LLB, that dialog will look like something like this:
If you hit "CONTROL - LEFT ARROW" while in this window, you will jump up to the root directory ( e.g. up to C:\ ). This could actually be a useful shortcut, but it conflicts with standard cursor navigation shortcuts. Holding down the CTL key while hitting the LEFT and RIGHT arrow will normally jump your cursor to the next word.
I often use CONTROL-ARROW KEY to move the cursor around. And I often do this in file dialogs to quickly jump past the file extension. And its so annoying to get pushed up to C: unexpectedly.
Also, NI only applies this shortcut if you are currently inside an LLB. Because its a native LabVIEW dialog. So it is applied selectively.
Where'd they get that shortcut from anyway? Is it an old Mac shortcut? Or from way back before CONTROL-ARROW KEY got used for cursor navigation?
Anyway, I say GET RID OF IT and let us use that for cursor navigation!
