Right-click Copy / Paste text editing in text fields

Status: New

Hello all,

Being accustomed to using the right-click copy and paste text function in most of my other Windows applications (this is a standard feature), I'd much appreciate being able to do this within LabVIEW text fields as well.  Among several places in LabVIEW that would benefit from this, this feature would be an especially useful timesaver while editing the Documentation field (for VI / control / indicator properties etc).

Best regards,

Oliver Barrett

I agree. But you are putting a lot of different things in the same bag.

For instance the Properties window (not just the documentation tab) is just a mess. Try Ctrl Z.

And mere strings are too. Try Ctrl-C or Ctrl+X if you have nothing selected, followed by Ctrl+V.

Luckily all this and more will be fixed in Next Generation LabVIEW... maybe.

I've put in a bag only differences of LV's Copy-Paste context menu items from standard Windows copy-paste functionality. I just want it to work as any Windows app works and that's all. What about hotkeys... I don't use them so often in LV when working with the text. Mostly it's useful for me on BD. But I don't see that "c" / "x" bug in LV 2014. Didn't check this on later LabVIEWs though.
