String Input Element with specified length

Hi,

it would be nice to set a default lenth of a string input element, e.g. 10 characters,

then it is not possible to enter more than 10 characters.

very similar but I don't think they are the same. Christians idea was for a fixed length string data type. I think this one is for a string control input validation property.

That's the feeling I had.  I could've sworn this idea had been presented already, but couldn't find it in a quick search, though I came up with Altenbach's.
