Support better Application Icons (more Icons and more resolutions in one ICO file)

Hi,

the application builder supports only an icon file with a total set of 4 icons and only 16x16 and 32x32 pixel in black and white or color.

That is not very usefull. Please support for the application icon more resolution and color combinations, e.g.

16x16 8bit

16x16 32bit

24x24 8bit

24x24 32bit

32x32 8bit

32x32 32bit

48x48 8 bit

48x48 32bit

256x256 8 bit

256x256 32bit

and other...

Thanks

Yes, you are right with Windows, ich have exactly this problem on windows 7. Now i saw that Labview really use the full ICO file, sorry for my wrong assumption.

But ther must be still something wrong, e.g.

- build an application exe using LabView with our company logo in an ICO file

- build an update application in AutoIt (Script Languare for Window and not a part of LabView) with the same logo and ICO file

The EXE from LabView has a wrong icon in the taskbar of Windows 7 and our software update EXE from AutoIt looks good.

So, i agree with Mads, that there must be a problem with the ICO file in an application EXE from LabView. Don't believe that this is a problem of windows.

In LabVIEW 2009, the icon editor used from the Application Builder UI was updated to allow editing and creation of larger resolution ICOs. Regarding the idea being closed. As the original idea was stated, the functionality was added in 8.5, thus it seems reasonable that the original idea's request was fulfilled. Per the follow up discussion, the ability to edit larger resolution/color ICO files was also added fulfilling that request.

The discussion brought up the icon editor used to modify a VI's (not application) icon. That request is separate from this discussion and actually has a couple of ideas already listed on the idea exchange - one specifically requesting 24-bit image support for icons.

Finally, if there are issues related to applying custom icons, please work with support to get that issue resolved.
