The value range for 3D graph color ramps should be configurable and not auto-scaled

The maximum and minimum values that correspond to the color ramp in 3D graphs should be configurable.

Currently the color map range autoscales to the range of the incoming data, but it would be convenient to be able to keep them fixed regardless of the graphs range of values.

Apparently this was possible in previous versions of LabVIEW (es. LabVIEW 6.1) using property nodes, but I have not been able to find an alternative way to do it in LabVIEW 2009 and later.

This is a big problem for me.  I can manually scale the Z axis, but cannot adjust the scaling of the color table to match the interesting range of the data.  For example, a single noise spike will throw off the entire rendering and I can't see my data at all.  This seems like an absolutely necessary feature.

See here for a long list of things wrong with the graphs.  The no color autoscale is my second grievance in my first post.  Looking back, I don't see a CAR for that particular issue.  I guess since it doesn't exist it can't be buggy.

Anything that helps make contour plots and intensity graphs more usable is a kudos in my book. I use intensity graphs to create a yield map for on-wafer testing, and it can sometimes be a pain to plot out data, for the same reason craigp mentioned.

There is a other type 3D graph "CW 3D Graph", where you can adjust the scaling of the table to match interesting range, just unflag the option " Auto Scale" in Color Map Editor. Red circle in following picture.

Can we get CW 3D graphs in LV 2009? I thought this was LabWindows/CVI only; if it is in LabVIEW, where is it?

If you're using 64 bit LabVIEW you're out of luck though.
