Yep, I saw your post and decided to give it a whole single Idea since it could have had stayed hidden only as a comment. I also used one of the pictures you posted in that thread - hope you don't mind.
'What we are used to' is native windows get folder dialog. 'Current' is the LabVIEW implenetation of its own dialog that I guess is same on all platforms. I have never seen the 'Current' anywhere else but in LabVIEW. So users of my apps thus it makes it very confusing for everybody.
I was confused about this suggestion at first until I realised that the idea is about the 'Select Folder' dialog, not the 'Select File' dialog.
To select a folder in LabVIEW you get the standard file dialog with the added button 'Current Folder'. In other windows programs you do indeed get the other dialog that just shows the directory tree and lets you select a folder.
I would like to see the folder dialog as well. Kudos.
Personal opinion. I pretty much see the "current.png" more often then the "What we are used to". For me infact i have very rarely seen the "What we are used to" that you have shown. I would prefer the current way and no "+" to expand.
I dislike the "What
we are used to.png" one because it does not have a path entry field where I can copy/paste the location I want to go. Even if this is confusing to user (and I agree that this is probably the case) I would like to keep the existing one.
Yes, and I did it. But you have to make sure that .Net is installed and if it is not then you have problems since regarding the size it is something you really don't want to distribute with your app.
