How to receive data thorough 18 (serial) pin in arduino mega 2560

Hello ,

This is mohan. Currently am working on project titled RESCUE ROBOT using arduino mega 2560 and lab veiw 2011.  For this i will have to input serial data from a GPS module (progin MR-87). I am a beginner . Could mange to work on obstacle avoider ,Line tracer , etc . but now i dont have any idea how to input the serial data . please help me out ..
