Wow - this hasn't attracted the attention it deserved!
Can anyone buy this and install the LV student edition (for non-commercial uses) even if they are not a registered student? Is there any time limit on this installation?
And is this / will this be available outside the US? I'm in the UK and I'd buy one in an instant.

tmh153,
The bundle on sparkfun is limited to the US and Canada, but is the 'full' student version of LabVIEW with no time limits or other restrictions (other than the fact that it can only be used for non-commercial use).

Thanks for your reply. This is great news for those in the US and Canada...
Who should I contact to submit a request that this product is made available elsewhere in the world - my local NI rep?

I installed the Labview SE that came with the bundle, but it did not license the Mathscript RT and Control Design Modules, which are part of the Student Edition. So, is it the "full" student version?

Would US Government use be considered non-commercial if it was not a configuration that was going to be publicly sold. I would like to integrate a network of Arduinos and display the sensor data they collect on a screen in the form of meters, thermometers, on/off indicators etc. Please let me know how to proceed so that I don't start down the wrong path.
Thanks!!

I bought the package but can not find a serial number for the Activation process . . . any tips?

the serial number is usually on the outside of a clear pastic envelope that contains the DVD.

Thank you.
The DVD envelope had other numbers that looked like the serial number,
but as you said, after looking in ALL the packing materials was another clear envelope with yet another number.
That should do the trick.
Thank You for your reply, Jim
