.mat and .mlv files

Since I don't have Labview 8 yet, I can't try this myself, but are the .mlv files that 'save' in Mathscript uses the same as '.mat' files?
I noticed that 'load' will still load .mat files, but can I load .mlv files into Matlab using 'load'?

The .mlv file format associated with the LabVIEW MathScript 'save' command is a MathScript specific file format that is entirely different than the '.mat' file format used by The MathWorks Inc. MATLAB(R) software.

Regarding the MathScript 'load' command, it can load .mlv files that you save with the MathScript 'save' command. Further, it can also load some .mat files saved by the MATLAB software (up to Version 6) and is only compatible with files that include datatypes that are supported by LabVIEW MathScript.

MATLAB® is a registered trademark of The MathWorks, Inc.

Hi,
You can actually  not only try LabVIEW 8 online, but you can also play with MathScript. Simply go to http://www.ni.com/trylabview/ , scroll down and click on the "Try LabVIEW 8 Online" link.

Hi Sam,

Does LV8.5 MathScript support later versions of MATLAB's file format?

Thanks,
Derek
