mathscript not available

Solved!
Go to solution

I have just re-installed LabVIEW 8.5 (prof. dev. sys) on another winxp desktop, the MathScript node has disappeared from the structures palette and I'm unable to resize or modify the existing nodes in my code. The mathscript examples work but are not editable.

Ideas?

Hello,

It sounds like you did not successfully activate LabVIEW on that computer.  This behavior is expected when the MathScript license is not activated.  To be sure, you can verify if the "MathScript Window" item has also disappeared from the Tools menu.

To check your licenses and activate if necessary, launch the NI License Manager from Programs >> National Instruments.  Under the LabVIEW 8.5 section, verify that "Professional Development System with MathScript" is activated.  If not, you will want to activate this license to use MathScript.

Hello grahamwebb,

If or when you upgrade to LabVIEW 2009, then do again what Grant has reccomended.

Apparently ownership of MathScript terminates as you upgrade to LabVIEW 2009 even if you are on current SSP.

So, when you do take the plunge and upgrade, make sure that your MathScript is still activated.

Just trying to minimize the surprize so that you realize your loss, and the cause, when it happens.
