When browsing to any folder, the text to the right of the folder icon is too high and almost in between the one it belongs to and the one above it. See screen capture below. This was observed in Linux Mint 21.1 "Vera" 64 bits.

This looks like the llb dialog, right? How are your various fonts defined in the ini (or by default).

I agree that it looks like the llb dialog, but it's not.
The screen capture was when saving the VI to a folder.
Steps:
1. From project explorer, right-click New > VI.
2. Do some work on the block diagram.
3. From the block diagram window, select File > Save
then browse to the folder location. You will see something similar to the screen capture that I posted.
It is annoying when you have multiple folders as shown below:

I believe this is a known issue (Bug 131454). There is a workaround: "The root cause is in the OTF version of Nimbus Sans: replace this font with a metric-compatible alternative, such as the Type1 version of Nimbus Sans, any version of Liberation Sans, etc."
If you want to get into the details of the low-level issue, you can see this thread: URW OTF fonts are too high · Issue #25 · ArtifexSoftware/urw-base35-fonts · GitHub
