Welcome to the LabVIEW Public Beta Program in 2023!

Update: the LabVIEW 2023 Q3 Beta program has ended, and the release version of LabVIEW 2023 Q3 is now available.

The LabVIEW 2023 Q3 Beta is now available for Windows and Mac. The Windows version is available to everyone, but only customers with active subscription or SSP will be able to download the Mac and Linux versions. (Note: modules and localized versions are not included in this Beta program.)

Installation

  • To download, visit https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/software-products/download.labview-beta.html
  • Activate with serial number <no longer active>.
  • Warning: this installer will replace LabVIEW 2023 Q1 with the Beta.
    • NI recommends that you install the Beta on a dedicated test machine or VM.
    • Please note that you will need to uninstall the Beta if you want to install the release version of LabVIEW 2023 Q3 on the same Windows machine, since NIPM does not support upgrading from the Beta.

New Features

  1. Diagram zoom
  2. Multiple animation speeds for Execution Highlighting
  3. “Quick change” label to object
  4. “Quick change” rectangular selection
  5. Double-click to finish wire and create control/indicator
  6. Find All Instances when running
  7. New visual feedback when selecting and branching wires
  8. Performance improvements to building applications, packed project libraries, and source distribution...
  9. JKI Dragon (Separate installation required)
  10. LabVIEW for macOS supports Apple silicon

Known issues

  • The splash screen and About box do not clearly state that this is a Beta. They do, however, show the version as 23.2d216.
  • The Getting Started Window New Features text still refers to LabVIEW 2023 Q1. The new features in the Beta are described on this forum.
  • You cannot directly upgrade from the Beta to the release version of LabVIEW 2023 Q3. You need to uninstall the Beta first.

Thank you for your participation! I look forward to seeing your feedback.

This bug is still present. Not sure if it ever got listed as a known issue for 2022 Q3 or 2023 Q1.

Having read through the new features listed above (but not having installed LabVIEW 2023 Q3 Beta yet), I echo iannicholson's comment, which is that these are significant QoL improvements. Thanks, and I'm looking forward to using them!
