Does anyone have any suggestions for tutorials on getting started with Labview 7.1 and the NXT. There are three tutorials on the NI website. They all seems to assume you either already understand LabView or you're familiar with programming the NXT with mindstorms/NXT-G:
How_To_Create_NXT_Blocks_with_NI_LabVIEW.pdf
Not really a getting started guide at all - importing mindstorms blocks?
LabVIEW_for_NXT_Advanced_Programming_Guide.pdf
This was nice in that it goes through all the NXT functions, but doesn't give any examples of how to use them.
LabVIEW_Toolkit_for_LMS_NXT_Getting_Started_Guide.pdf
Not alot of informaiton here on getting the robot going.
If anyone has any links to tutorials on using Labview 7.1 Student Edition with the NXT toolkit that would be targeted to 5th graders, please let me know. Something like - here's a simple VI to make the motor spin for 3 seconds, or turn clockwise for 8 steps, etc. If I find anything useful, I'll post it back here.
thanks for you help.

There are a few samples vi's under C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.1\examples\NXTToolkit\NXT Programs, but there is quite a leap in teaching a student about turning on and off a motor, and working a shift register in a while loop.
I'll keep posting back - thanks all.
