2 array matching

I have a single picture with identical images. The images are filtered through different intensities. I cannot guarentee that that they will be completely aligned and matched up so would need to cut the picture in half then match the pattern of intensity.
and crop so the arrays are identical square size and where there are grayscale values for one pic there should be one for the other. Is this possible in labview without the use of vision or imaq tools. I have labview 6.
please help

Hello,

This sounds relatively easy to accomplish using IMAQ Vision software if I understood your application correct. You'd have to do a pattern match on your picture which can be shift and rotation invariant. This function will return a match score (btw. 0 and 1000) depending on how close the match is.
In order to verify that the function will work for you, I suggest you download the evaluation version of Vision Builder for Automated Inspection, which uses the same pattern matching algorithm and try it on your pictures (http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/nioc.vp?pc=res&cid=1308〈=US&p_0=manual).
I hope this helps!
