3-tier application development in LabVIEW

Hello,

Before posing the question, one good comment on LabVIEW. LabVIEW has been constantly improving and getting better every release. Complexity of applications built on LabVIEW are increasingly getting better. I'm wondering if anyone have built a commercial 3-tier application or web-enabled applications using LabVIEW and other platforms. If anyone is working or thinking in that direction, I'm looking for a LabVIEW knowledge share effort.

Hi Giri,
We definitely appreciate the good comment.

Using LabVIEW DSC, there are many tools available to help implement the different parts of complex applications, (ie. Citadel Database, OPC communications, front panel GUI with the web publishing tool) which should meet your design needs.

Hi Vineet,

Thank you for the link. Does the front-end of applications created in LabVIEW DSC, run in a browser (web-enabled app)? How easy is it to customize an application created using LabVIEW DSC to integrate with a web-browser.

Hi Giri,
For some reason I didn't see a notification until just now... sorry about the late response.

Using LabVIEW's built-in webserver and the web publishing tool, you can view and control LabVIEW DSC front panels from a browser window. The application would still be developed and running on a computer with the DSC tag engine, but you can easily view and control the front panel objects the same way you can in all LabVIEW applications.

There are several examples of how to do this on the NI Developer Zone. (Here's a link to one)
