34972A - Is it possible to use the common channel to read all the different waveform being inputted into the 34972A

Solved!

my aim here is to be able to display all the waveform that are inputted into the 34972A channels. is it possible to use the common channel to achieve this ?

or  rather should i rephrase my sentence how do i use the common channel to access other channels input waveform ?

The HP/Agilent/Keysite 34970A/34972A is NOT a high speed DAQ so it will not read, measure, save, or display a waveform of any kind.

The 34972A is intended to take a high number of measurements at specific but relatively slow intervals.

It's fastest scanning rate is 250 channels/second so that means at best it could measure one channel at a sample rate of 250Hz, that makes for a pretty sad oscilloscope or waveform measurement.

Hi soarin,

can you please kindly advise me or recommend me another kind of NI device if possible.

First step: write down all your requirements, starting with number of channels and samplerate.

Second step: call your local NI sales guy…

how do i use the common channel

I hope you don't talk about the COM or GND connection when you write "common channel"…

Best regards,
GerdW

The 3497xA is is just a fancy multimeter and when a multiplexer card is installed is has 20 differential or 40 single ended inputs depending on the card. I am guessing he was asking how to read waveforms on individual channels.
