I have some old VI's which I need to open but the file format is too old. I am currently using Labview 8.6 and teh VI's I want to open are from Labview 4.0.1. Does anyone know of a file converter which I can use to update these VI's.
Thanks,
Matt.

Hi Matt,
One way would be for someone to open it in a version that still supported it and is supported by LV8.6.
Dunno if that's possible, but the best you can do is to post your old VI's and hope someone can still open it.
At least that i know, there's no file converter available.

Ok I may be able to do that at my end but I can't gain access to the necessary computer for a while.
Is there no file converter program available for me to use to do this???
Thanks,
Matt.

Hey Gilgad2000 (good profile name, by the way),
I wanted to pass on a couple of very useful KBs and tutorials.
How to Upgrade or Revert a VI to a Different Version of LabVIEW

Also, if you are converting a large number of files the following KB could save you time and faff ![]()
A single file or an entire directory can be selected for mass compile and the items will be automatically opened in the new version, saved, and then closed
What Does Mass Compile Do in LabVIEW?

I hope that was useful,
