4275A driver gets strange symbols

Hello,

I am currently working on using a 4275A and a Keithley 2612A together. The Keithley is going to make a sweep and trigger the 4275A after every step. My first problem (not mentioning the problem of connecting the two) is not getting a right reading with the drivers from NI. I don't get an error but I get strange symbols/characters as a reading. I attached a Picture showing the issue. I just used the driver to get a reading and see if everything is working, but it isn't. It also doesn't make a difference whether the 4275A is ON or OFF. So I first thought it isn't connected, but it is.

Thanks for your help in advance. Also, if  anyone could tell me where I can find the 488-1975 remote commands for controlling, I would really appreciate it.

Best Regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

you really should look for a manual of your HP/Agilent 4275A!

It will contain all the information you need to communicate with the device…

Could you switch the string display to hex? Does the device offer some settings to increase communication bandwidth by sending binary data instead of using ASCII/human readable strings?

Best regards,
GerdW

Hello again,

Thanks for the fast answer. I am sorry I answer this late but there was a problem with the interface and LabView. I had to change some things and am still testing your solution. Since I realized that we are using a USB-GPIB from Agilent, I cannot use GPIB-functions. So right now I am switching to VISA. If I get the same error however, I will write again.

Best Regards,

Daniel

Since I did not find an edit button:

It is working fine now. I don't know whether it was the usb-Gpib adapter or something else, but it is working now. Thanks!

Best regards,

Daniel
