£5 reward for helping

Hi, since I'm running out of time pretty rapidly I'm offering a £5 reward (paid via paypal) to the first person who can complete my program as per my previous thread today http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&thread.id=400477

So is anyone interested in spending a few minutes helping out and making some pocket money?

Cheers all,

Iain

Hmmm... let's see... at today's exchange rate, £5 is about $7.33. Of course, I would need to consider whether or not I have to report it to the IRS. If it goesinto PayPal then it would get interest, and I would need to report the interest on my tax forms. Of course, since I've already done my taxes this means I would need to file an amendment. Ugh. Also, would this be a gift, or would I be working free-lance? If so, then I would need to worry about filing as a business. But that, of course, requires a whole bunch of other forms, and I have to consider additional taxes, like perhaps unemployment taxes. And let's not forget healthcare. And then there's also.... (saverio trails off in the distance mumbling about all sort of things)...

well you lot drive a hard bargain don't you, ok i'll increase the offer to £10 (i'm a poor student!). I'm sure you can find something on ebay for £10 that you could treat yourself to, and i'm really getting desperate!

Unfortunately for some, this forum is not a code-writing service so we don't do other people's work or homework, even at the juicy chance of buying something on Ebay. As noted by myself and others in your other thread, there are examples that ship with LabVIEW that do pretty much what you want to do. If you're not going to spend the time to even study (a poignant word since you're a student) those examples, then you're going to have a hard time later on. We're not going to hold your hand. Thats fair enough, and I respect your position on this. It was perhaps pretty optimistic on my part, oh well. I'm certainly not adverse to a getting stuck into some hard work and learning things myself, but i'm writing this program for our formula student team to allow us to obtain data about our car which several people need to include in their projects. We're now down to about 3 weeks to get the system up and running, and then get it fitted to the car to actually obtain data while testing (through no fault of our own, we only just received the hardware we needed). People have been very good at providing hints in the other thread so I might yet find the time to get this running and get on with the other program I'm writing, the one which actually formats and makes sense of any data we gather. I'm expecting that one to be quite a job!
Oh and regarding the examples you speak of, I've been using them to get my program this far, so its not a case of not being bothered.

No one here has a problem helping. However, most of us (like me) have a real aversion to helping someone who isn't even willing to try, and believe me we've seen a lot of people just saying "give me ...", especially students just looking for someone to do their homework for them. As soon as you said "student", my auto-react went on.

Please see my response in your other thread to see if it helps in your task.

LOL!!!

I'm staying out of this one...  One record-length thread is enough...

(as I think to myself... where have I seen this before....)
