5401 in arbitrary mode

Hi at all!

I tried to configure my PXI 5401 as a simple arbitrary generator using FGEN drivers. But until now I already fail while configuring the device as arbitrary using the niFgen Configure Output Mode. vi 😞 I'm getting an error -1074135039: the 5401 doesn't support output modes NIFGEN_VAL_OUTPUT_ARB

If this fails how else is it possible to use 5401 as arbitray?

Sorry, couldn't see the wood for trees. Didn't realize that an arb waveform is called user Wfm with the 5401....

But: does anybody know if it it possible nevertheless to define a marker signal on such a waveform?

The 5401 doesn't support markers. This feature is supported by the newer boards like the 5411, 5421, 5431 and 5441. Maybe you could use the SYNC output but it only generates a meaningful signal if you generate a sine signal (please refer to the NI Signal Generators Help).
