You should start by doing some tutorials so you know how to program in LabVIEW. To learn more about LabVIEW it is recommended that you go through the introduction material, tutorial(s), and other material in the NI Developer Zone's Learning Center which provides links to other materials and other tutorials. There are also several Technical Resources. You can also take the online courses for free.
You said you needed an automated test procedure, so perhaps TestStand is what you should be looking at as well?
As for the 8920b, there's a driver for the 8920 (http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.model_page?p_model_id=2042), but I have no idea if it supports the 8920B, or even if it's any good.
