9871 Serial Module in Scan Mode?

The following article says the NI-9871 serial module now works in scan mode when using NI-Serial 3.7 or higher. I'm running NI-RIO 3.6.1 on LabVIEW 2010SP1. I have a CRIO 9148 expansion chassis and it does not appear possible to use the serial module as described in the article.

MAX does not recognize the serial ports under the local host or my remote target. How can I use my 9148 in scan mode if this does not occur?

Hello craige,

There isn't any reason the module won't show up properly in MAX. This is probably just a software configuration error. Do you have Scan Engine support installed on the system? Did you specifically install the NI 987x serial support on the RIO? This can be done from the add/remove software window.
