A simple question

Hi All,

I have a simple question which frustrated me for a long term. You know, NI
provides a lot of labVIEW examples on its website. But we can only download
the execution-time user interface(so called frontpanel). Sometimes, we have
to make a slight change to the examples so that it could fit our biz.
However, I dont know how to find out the source code of these examples, i.e.
how to get the block diagrams of the examples. If you have any idea to this
problem, could you please do me a favor? My email address is
fanzhang@sol1.lrsm.upenn.edu. Thanks for your help.

Best,
Fan

Where are you downloading from and what are you downloading? All of the files
I've downloaded from the example program database (http://www.ni.com/support/epd/)
come with diagrams.

Actually, I download the examples from the following hyperlink:
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/devzone.nsf/webproducts/be7d9c62186b777f862567850
06d62c8?opendocument

I also tried to download the examples from the site you provided me. Then I
unzipped them. What I got was also a frontpanle only, without source code in
the diagram. Do you mean that we have any measure to convert the frontpanel
file into source codes?

Thanks.

Best,
Fan

Those are examples submitted by individuals who are not affiliated with NI,
so you have to contact the person who wrote that particular VI.

I downloaded several files from the zone too. They all had diagrams.

The Short answer is that a VI saved without its Diagram cannot
recover the diagram, (This is a security feature to prevent
VI's from being changed) Therefore, any time a VI is saved without the
Diagram for use in a 'public' environment, a copy of the VI should also
be saved to a 'access controlled' location as well.

Hope this helps
Rick
