Hallo All,
I am trying to measure the voltage from a agilent 34401A multimeter. i use a GPIB to USB converter from agilent. I was able to communicate with this like, 2 months before with the same laptop and the same version of labview. to communicate with my PID controller, i installed Serial port driver for Labview. after i installed the serial port driver, the GPIB option is gone from the resource name drop down box.
I used agilent driver search, and saw its working properly.and I did also send and recieve some message using this plugin. but im not able to communicate with labview. like im not able to initialize only.
what should i do now?.. i need to finish this project by the end of november. please throw some light..

Hi,
have you tried to install the driver again?

Why did you install the serial port driver? Do you have a serial interface device? I assume you are referring to NI-Serial? If so, that would have also installed NI-VISA, and most likely that would have stomped onto the VISA that was installed with the Agilent device. In order to see non-NI products using NI-VISA you need to enable Passport for NI-VISA. This is done via MAX, and is explained here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/3B3626D9C1F999218625694200791AD7
