ADC problem

Greetings to all,
We have a problem with feeding an analog signal from the function generator to the Labview FPGA through the ADC. We first tried to generate a sine wave from the DAC, feed it to the ADC (through an external link) and then read the signal from the host computer through the FIFO. The result was successful. However, when we disconnect the link between the analog output and analog input of the board and then connect the function generator's output to the analog input port  (abiding by the specifications), we get a zero signal.

This may be a grounding issue. Make sure you are connecting the grounds correctly. Also, Is the function generator an external box instrument, or something from software?

Hello again,

Actually, we're using a real function generator (not a software routine). Please note that we're using the IFRIO (PCI 5640) system board whose analog input and output ports are basically SMA port types.
Yes, We're still facing the same problem. Can you clarify more about the grounding issue and other possible cause of the problem.

thank you for your time and cooperation

Hi

Have you verified that the signal generator connections are good using the Spectrum Analyzer example?  There you have to be careful about the amount of decimation which corresponds to the frequency span you see.
