Abort/Emergency Stop button

I'm trying to create a simple program where it will go through the LEDs one by one with 5 sec interval. But I want to also have an emergency stop button that can stop the program anytime and immediately (100ms). I haven't figure out on how to do it, please help.

replace the sequence by a proper state machine, then it becomes very easy to implement all your requirements!
