You're using the term "connected" to refer to an implicit property node. Explicit require the user to explicitly link a specific reference to the property node. Implicit have the control reference implied by the name and color of the stripe in the property node.
I thought the left one was called "linked" (as it is linked to a control), the right one was disconnected (as you literally disconnect the left one it to get the right one). Not that there's a need for name giving very often...
Is there a reference to the terminology you mention (implicit and explicit)?

I don't know of a specific official reference, but I've heard the terminology implicit and explicit used for years throughout the forum.
Here is a link from 2008. https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/implicit-vs-explicit-property-node/td-p/654014
That said, I think it is possible that some people can easily mix up the two terms. I think your terminology of "linked" vs. "disconnected" is good in that those terms are directly used in the shortcut menu.
