Accessing/saving audio from computers sound card

Solved!
Go to solution

I can not find any support regarding accessing and saving audio from the computrers sound card.  I want to save audio along with an AVI, for example,  while video documenting a process.  I have a complete program for the video part and would love to be able to augment my program with audio.

First, is this possible with standard Labview (8.5) and the Imaq toolkit and, if so, can someone point to where there may be written help to figure out how?

Look in the "Graphics & Sound»Sound" palette -- you should find VIs for acquiring sound from the sound card and also VIs for writing to a .wav file.

Then you'll want to wire them up something like this (just for illustration, not tested -- I didn't even wire a stop button):

Good luck,

Haven't you noticed the Graphics & Sound palette? Have you tried the 'Search' option on your functions palette?

I hate it when it is this easy.  I looked and looked and never noticed or used that Palette. I did searches for example VI's and searched the general help for audio and sound, which only pointed me to the sound analysis functions in the SV took kit.

So, I apologize for overlooking the obvious.
