Acquiring a digital signal via PFI input using the SCB 68 and NI 6536 Devices

Hello

I’m using the NI 6536 with SCB 68, I’ve connected them via 653X adapter, I want to acquire a digital signal generated from a pulse generator, At first I’ve connected my Input to Port0 Line 0 which correspond to input 1 in the SCB 68 device, I’m able to see my pulses on NI MAX as well as in LabView , now I want to use the PFI input instead of Port0 Line 0 but It doesn’t work and I can’t localize the cause of this issue , have you any documentation to help me configure the PFI input in NI Max  and the steps that I should follow to do the job ??

I ve joined the screen shot of the signal acquired from Port 0 Line 0

Thanks in advance.

Hi Christine,

PFI pins usually are used for triggers, counters, pulse generation.

So why do you want to measure using a PFI pin? Why don't you stick with your default DIO pin?

Best regards,

Hi Crisstine,

when the signal at your PFI should be used as sample clock then you need to configure your DAQmx task to use the PFI as external sample clock…

hello, have you got solution? I met the same problem with yours at NI-MAX. Can we have a discussion about the solution?

Who is "you"?

Surely we can discuss your problems with your code - as soon as you attach your VI and tell us the specific problem you are stuck with!

Best regards,
GerdW
