Adlink PCI-3488 not recognized by Labview 7.1

I am trying to interface through Labview 7.1 with an HP6032A power supply (downloaded driver 7.1) using ADLINK PCI 3488 for the GPIB card (Win 2000) but the Automation and Measurement does not seem to recognize or list it as part of its inteface devices.  The computer recognizes the installed Adlink PCI 3488 but my VI is not seeing it.

Measurement and Automation Explorer is a utility program from National Instruments for National Instruments boards. It's not supposed to be used for GPIB boards from other vendors. Nor can you use the GPIB functions in LabVIEW with it. You have to use the driver from the vendor unless the vendor provides a VISA interface to the board. In that case, you use the VISA functions.

Correction. I looked at Adlink's web site and it says it's binaries are fully compatible with NI's GPIB driver so you may in fact be able to use the low level GPIB functions. I still wouldn't count on being able to do anything with MAX though.

Hi guys,

I am having the same problem as the Op. Trying to connect through PCI-3488 GPIB with the soft that has been written some 25 years ago in Labwindows/CVI for NI ISA GPIB.

All other softwares see my card apart from NI one. Should I lose my time or get back to Win95 and that NI ISA card please?

Cheers,

Anysz
