Agilent 8510C LabVIEW driver doesn't work properly.

Hi, I download the Agilent 8510C LabVIEW 2010 driver file online. I connect my laptop with 8510C through NI GPIB cable. My laptop is able to communicate with 8510C. Then I run the Getting Started vi. Problems comes up. The Getting Started vi cannot change the number of points, and it doesn't receive any raw data. I look into the block diagram. I saw that the sweep time is set to 0.5 second, but 8510C shows 0.1 second. That means the sweep time block doesn't work also.  I was trying to fix the vi, but so far I can only make it receive and output the magnitude data. I am a new LabVIEW user.  I need some helps to fix the vi to make it work. I attach the hp8510c driver. The vi that I fixed is named "iris getting started" vi. If anybody can help me to solve this problem, I will be very appreciate it. Thanks.

It appears this is an outcome of your version conversion request. At the time of the request I was in autopilot mode so I did not check. I did so now, and it seems you did not actually get the project-style version,, which should be more recent than the one you have.

I downloaded the project style 8510C driver, but it doesn't work properly either. When I run it, it has the exactly same problems. I took a look into the block diagram, it looks the same as the one that I attached with my first message.

Hi Iris-Q,

I have a few questions:

Is there any error associated with this or is it just giving bad results?

When you say you cannot change the numbers of points does that mean you cannot change where the slider is on the front panel?

Thank you.

The 8510C is a very old network analyzer that has been obseleted by Agilent.

You might want to consider downloading the programmer's manual, if possible, to compare the commands against the VIs.
