Hi,
I've a question on how to proceed further in order to solve:
"An installed data dictionary is incompatible with a previously installed version. this error may have been caused by a recently installed component."
These errors prompted after some automated updates by Microsoft (and authorized by it-department client) after succesfully commissioning a year earlier.
Would a Windows system-recovery before those changes
Also it seems serveral devices (e.g. usb-interface and RS485-connection) are not recognized and shown in the menu "Devices and interfaces". Unfortunately im not allowed to share the source-code.
Thanks,
Novice

Hi Dutch Novice,

Where does that error come from?
Which software/tool shows that error message?

Is this related to your other (solved) thread?

This error is generated when by left-clicking "Devices and interfaces" menu in NI MAX.
I thought it was solved, but at the site we keep getting these error. ive checked power-supply NI-device and also changed usb-cable.
Thank you,

I'll try this lateron,
thanks for the idea. This did cross my mind, yet i didn't figure out what the mentioned default configuration-settings would be. I'll try this one on site after making a system-restore point.
best regards
