Please i want to use LabVIEW tosimulate the movement of adjuster rods of a nuclear reactor. is that going to be feasible??? if yes please help me. thanks

Elizabeth,
How feasible it is depends on how well you know the behavior of the rods or what kinds of equation(s) you have for that behavior. LabVIEW is a very powerful programming language and has simulation toolkits available.
Your question cannot be answered more specifically because you did not tell us details of the kind of simulation you want to perform. What applies force to the rods to move them? What retarding forces (friction, gravity,...) exist? What constraints apply? What determines when the force will be applied and how strong it is? What are the time scales for the simulation? How will the user interact with the simulation?

hello Lynn
Thank very much. The following are answers to the questions you asked me.
the rod will drop by gravity based on electromagnetic clutch system and a small motor will wind it up for withdrawal from the core but currently its being move up and down manually.
the retarding force when drop will be the up-thrust of the water in the guide tube and the retarding force for withdrawal will be gravity and water on top of the rod in the guide tube
the force is applied to insert reactivity when withdrawing and reduce reactivity when inserting the rod, in both cases minimal speed is required since the final position of the rod is pre-determined
the drop in reactivity or increase in reactivity will determine when force will be applied to the adjuster rods when reactor is being started.
the interface should have bottoms to move rods up n down, show rod positions, show graphical movements of all four rods to indicate which rod is moving.
will be grafefull if you could guide me
Thanks
