Application Builder Settings Sometimes Changes

I'm currently using LV 8.5 and Win-XP.  Occasionally I need to rebuild an application after making changes in the program.  Usually (not always) I have to redefine the icon and the Source File Settings for the application that had been previously defined.  This also means that I have to redefine the Source Files in the installer.  All other settings remain as previously defined. 

Why is this happening?  I don't recall having to do this in versions prior to 8.5.  In other words, prior to 8.5 I did not have to update or change any of the settings except the version number.

Is there something I need to understand or is there something I'm doing wrong?  This is more of a nuisance than a problem, but I'd like to understand the process better.

Hi Dave,

I have also encountered this problem several times in one of my LV8.5 projects. Unfortunately I haven't yet been able to find out the cause of this annoying behaviour. My workaround is to restore a backup of the project file from the server.

By chance when the settings are lost, had you recently recovered a project via autosave?

Great idea ! I'm not sure to 100% but I don't think so... But I will pay more attention if LV should crash.

I noticed this will happen if you open and save your project on a system that does not have the Application Builder installed.  It is quite annoying.

When you say "recovered" I assume you refer to the event when I have to end the LabVIEW task due to a crash during programming.  In this case, yes I sometimes have to do the recover process, which is another issue that seems to be on the increase with v.8.5.  For example, I have been getting many "sorry to incovenience you" messages since installing v.8.5.

While writing this, I got the message from JB.  I will likewise keep an eye on the recover issue.

I also received the message from Matthew K.  I have only this one computer used for LV development and it of course has app builder.  So this is not an issue for me.

The reason I mentioned it is that there is a reported issue regarding build specifications losing their source files when a project is autorecovered (ID 4ENAG200). This would lead to the behavior where icon files and source file settings are lost since the source files are not present.
