The latest version of NI-DAQ (7.4) allows you to simulate DAQ boards to allow you to run a vi without the needed hardware. You may want to look into this if that is acceptable for your needs

DAQ 7.4 is a free download, assuming you have a high speed internet connection as it is about 800Mb, zipped! It will do a partial simulation of many of National Instruments current line of DAQ boards, does not provide particularly "interesting" signals from the simulation, but it does allow you to develope some of the code after the DAQ that you couldn't easily do before.
