Are there any known conflicts between LabView 6.0 and Tyan Tomahawk (model S1856S) motherboards

When trying to open the program written in LabView the computer halts. We have used various o/s's,video cards, removed the Daq and GPIB cards, and still the computer halts? The program runs on other computers.

Hello,

Usually LabVIEW does not have any sort of dependency on the motherboard...I am not aware of any other situations where LabVIEW was not compatible with the computer's motherboard. There are other things that could be wrong with this computer...for instance, you should try replacing the memory chips in your computer...sometimes bad memory will result in faulty program execution.

What does your program do? Is it a DAQ program? Does it call external DLLs or ActiveX functions? Have you tried enabling execution highlighting to see at which point in the diagram your VI hangs? This will be helpful in diagnosing the problem.

I hope these suggestions help you out...good luck with your application and have a pleasant day.

Sincerely,
Darren N.

Can't say for sure about the S1856S. However, I have used many Tyan
S1854 (Trinity 400) motherboards with LabVIEW under WNT and W2K with no
problems. I've been very happy with them.
