I noticed that for some of my projects, the icon that is attached to the exe is also attached to the installer. For others, the installer contains only a default icon. Why is this the case? How can I set the default icon of an installer?

You can define a custom icon in the build specifications of your project when you create an application (EXE).

I'm asking about the installer. Not the executable. Sometimes the icon carries over from the executable to the installer. Sometimes it does not. I can't figure out why. I would think an option would exist under the build specifications, but I don't see any.

Ahh, that's a good question. I don't usually even notice the icon of my installers but my EXEs stay in-house so it's not really an issue.
I would guess that the icon file has to be in one of the destination folders in the source file tab. If you have an installer that shows a custom icon check and see if there's an icon file listed there.
Otherwise maybe an NI guy can chime in...

I think NIquist is on the right track. As there are only options to give an executable an icon not the installer.
