BSOD crashes from nistc2k.dll - How to debug?

Dear LabView gurus,

I am getting recurring Blue Screen crashes at random, with the IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL header, and at the bottom a mention of nistc2k.dll which can be found with other drivers in the system drivers folder. What does that driver do?

How can I begin to figure out what is causing these crashes?

My VI gives no warning before the blue screen comes up, and it seems to happen under a variety of situations, including when no one is using the VI and it is not collecting any data, just looping.

I have replaced the RAM (from 1GB to 4GB), carefully scanned the hard disk, defragged it, removed and reinstalled LabView (8.6) and DAQmx (9.0). My hardware is two NI6733 and one NI6115 multifunction IO boards, in a PXI chassis. I am running labview on a Dell Windows XP machine with two 3GHz Xeon processors (circa 2004).

Anyone know how to read and interpret kernel dump files?

I am not a PC guy, and have little experience dealing with PC's system errors, so any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the link to a thread about another DAQmx .dll.

I know that nistc2k.dll is part of DAQmx, and (as I mentioned above) I just completely re-installed DAQmx (and LabView), so I don't see how repairing with Add or Remove Programs will help anything. Plus, I don't know which of the NI Products in that dialog is the one that uses nistc2k.dll, so what would I select for repairing?

Hello,

Are you able to get a crash dump after the blue screen occurs? This is outlined in the knowledgebase here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/581127525C80606A862570BE0003111D . It looks as though you have an open service request on this very same issue through phone support. It would be best to continue working with that Engineer directly in order to get your issues resolved. Keep us updated!
