Bertan Serial Poll byte

In Visual Basic I can look at the Serial Poll of the Bertan High Voltage Power supply. The Serial Poll tells me if there is a Voltage Overage, Current Overage and/or Message error. I cannot figure out how to read this byte in LabView.  Thank you in advance. Barbara

Thanks. I found the gpib serial poll and it works. I programmed a pop up on the screen for the overload and tripped. I find I do not know how to clear the serial port, and the pop up occurs on the next instrument command, although this time there is no overload or trip.  I am replying from home. The firewall at work won't let me reply. Also, I was unable to return the five stars I owe you. I marked it at work, but it did not go through. At home, it is not giving me that opportunity.  Barbara

You should check the manual for your instrument. Somewhere in the fine print it should tell you how the instrument clears its status registers. You may need to explicitly send some command which clears it or maybe read it several times until no errors occur.
